University of Chicago GSB

About the Center

The Center for Decision Research was founded by Hillel Einhorn in 1977. Decision research draws on cognitive and social psychology, economics, sociology, statistics, and other disciplines to understand how individuals and groups make decisions.

Through the work of the Center, the GSB was the first business school to emphasize behavioral decision making in its MBA and PhD programs.

More About Decision Research
The Center is developing a website to provide information about research in decision making. The “What is Decision Research” site will provide interactive demonstrations, educational resources and information about decision making research. Stay tuned for the launch of this new website.
