
The Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory Founded by Richard O. Ryan, MBA '66 is hosting an intensive, one-week program to introduce PhD. students from outside the University of Chicago to price theory. Chicago Price Theory emphasizes the application of basic economic tools to applied problems.
The inaugural summer programconsisted of lectures by Kevin Murphy, Gary Becker, and Steve Levitt, workshops on problem sets, and a series of "Chicago-style" seminars featuring the research-in-progress of University of Chicago faculty.
The program ran from Sunday, June 24 to Friday, June 29, 2007. Participants received meals and housing on the University of Chicago campus and an allowance for travel expenses. Participants
This program is geared towards PhD. students in economics who have completed their third or fourth year of study, but PhD. students at all levels may apply. Interested students should send their CV and the names and contact information of two advisors to serve as references to Amber Doctor.
